Questions students ask
How long is the digital SAT?
Two hours and 14 minutes of testing. Reading and Writing is 54 questions in two 32 minute modules, and Math is 44 questions in two 35 minute modules.
What does adaptive mean on the digital SAT?
Each section has two modules. How you do on the first module decides whether the second is the easier or harder version. The harder module is what gives access to the top of the score range, so the first module matters more than its question count suggests.
Can I use a calculator on the SAT?
Yes, for the entire math section. A Desmos graphing calculator is built into the testing app, and you may also bring your own approved calculator.
Is there a penalty for wrong answers?
No. Nothing is deducted for a wrong answer, so answer every question even if you are guessing.
