The required list
A testing device, meaning a laptop or tablet with Bluebook installed, signed in, and with the exam already downloaded during exam setup. Some test centers loan devices, but that has to be arranged in advance through your school or during registration.
An acceptable photo ID. The name on it has to match the name on your registration. This is checked at the door and a mismatch is one of the few things that ends the day before it starts. Acceptable ID types are listed on collegeboard.org and vary depending on whether you are testing in the United States or internationally.
Your admission ticket, printed or saved on paper. Some centers do not ask for it, but bringing it costs nothing.
In the figure shown, AB is a diameter of the circle with center O. What is the circumference of the circle?
Bring these even though they are optional
A power cord and, if you have one, a portable charger. Outlets are not guaranteed at every seat, and a dead battery during Module 2 is your problem, not the center's. Charge fully the night before and start the morning at 100 percent.
An approved handheld calculator as a backup. A Desmos graphing calculator is built into Bluebook and allowed on the entire Math section, so you do not need your own, but muscle memory is fast and a backup costs nothing. Bring fresh batteries, since proctors do not supply them.
A pencil for scratch work. The center provides scratch paper, and writing out a system or sketching a triangle is still faster than holding it in your head on a digital test. Also bring a snack and water for the 10 minute break, and a layer, because test rooms are often cold.
Phones, smartwatches, fitness trackers, earbuds, headphones, cameras, and any separate device with internet access.
What is banned
Phones, smartwatches, fitness trackers, earbuds, headphones, cameras, and any separate device with internet access. These have to be off and put away, and having one out during the test can get your scores cancelled.
Notes of any kind, including a formula sheet. The only reference available is the geometry reference sheet built into the app, and it is geometry only.
Calculators with a QWERTY keyboard, internet access, a camera, or the ability to run programs beyond what is on the approved list. Check the current approved calculator list on collegeboard.org before test day, since it is updated periodically.
The night before
Put everything in one bag the night before: device, charger, ID, ticket, calculator, pencil, snack, water. Doing it in the morning is how the ID stays on the kitchen counter.
Open Bluebook and confirm the exam is downloaded and setup is complete. This takes two minutes and it is the single most common avoidable problem on test morning.
